Stephen Jacques | Commercial Officer, U.S. Department of Commerce, Tokyo


Stephen Jacques is a Commercial Officer at U.S. Embassy Tokyo.  Stephen responsibilities at Commercial Service (CS) Tokyo include trade promotion and policy work on the construction, environment, energy, automobile and basic industries and chemical sectors. This is Stephen's second tour with the CS.  He also served as a Trade Specialist in the Houston Export Assistant Center and had a year of Japanese language training at FSI Washington.  Stephen joined the Foreign Service in September, 1998.  Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Stephen spent ten years as an International Trade Specialist in Washington, D.C. at the Department of Commerce’s Office of Import Administration where he worked on antidumping investigations and steel import negotiations.  

Stephen received a MBA in international management from Thunderbird, the Garvin School of International Management and a bachelor's degree in economics and French from University of Arizona.  Outside the office, Stephen enjoys sports, reading and sightseeing.  Stephen is originally from Phoenix, Arizona.  He is single with no children.
